KS1 Dance Competition
Our team of six Year 2 children recently took part in a KS1 Dance competition held at Wrenthorpe Primary Academy. Consisting of eight teams from within the Outwood Together cluster, the children showed excellent dance moves and a great team spirit resulting in them coming home with the runners up trophy. A fantastic achievement celebrated by all.

Wonderful comments about our children who attended Wakefield Wildcats sessions for 10 weeks.

Dear Mrs Frost,

Your children were brilliant again today. They all completed the “Belle Vue Flag Challenge” with great enthusiasm. Their challenge was to work in teams to build towers out of marsh mellows and spaghetti. They had to try and build their towers as high as they could. They all worked well, using great teamwork skills. I have attached some photos of the children working during todays challenge to this email and the following emails.

Jack and I will miss the children next half term, but we are really looking forward to coming into school this Friday  at 10:10 to do the presentation assembly for the children and present them with certificates for completing the "win & Grin with Daddy Cool" programme.

Back pack appeal. Thank you to children for donating rucksacks with school supplies to our African appeal. July 2016.

We said a sad farewell to our wonderful year 6 pupils. Lots of luck in your new schools.

Both KS1 and KS2 had their Sports Days this week. Each and every single child showed great enthusiasm, encouraged each other and worked together to create a competitive but friendly atmosphere. Take a look at the photos and enjoy.

Year 4 Multi-Skills session at Kingsland

This week a number of Year 4 children were given the opportunity to take part in a Multi-Skills session, which took place at Kingsland School with the other Schools in the Outwood Together Cluster. All children had a fabulous time and represented the School fantastically by being polite, respectful, integrating with each other, helping and sharing.

Space Seeds Experiment!

We are very excited!

Along with 8500 other children across the country, Stanley Grove is taking part in the Space Seed experiment! We received two packets of seeds - one blue, one red. One has been to space and one has not. We have no idea which one is which but Tim Peake will reveal all at the end of the experiment. Classes 5, 3 and 2 are involved, though the plants themselves will be growing in Class 5 as it is nice and sunny.

We have had to set the experiment up very carefully and follow lots of guidelines to make sure our test is as fair as possible. Now we have to watch closely and see what grows, where and how well. It has been a very exciting afternoon for staff and children alike and now we are waiting to see if we were lucky enough to touch something which has actually been into space! Check back for updates!

Harvest 2015 - Our children celebrated Harvest on Thursday morning. Class 1 and 2 shared their artwork, Classes 3 and 4 had prepared poems, and Classes 5 and 6 presented readings and prayers to help us reflect on the importance on harvest and how lucky we are. On Friday morning, the Year 6 school council representatives (along with staff) delivered the collected donations and took them to Wakefield Hospice who were very grateful and asked us to pass on their thanks to the parents and pupils of the school.
