We are fortunate to have a fantastic outdoor learning environment in our school which we work hard to develop for the children to use.  It includes a wild life area, den building, woodland area, large school field, camp fire, willow dome, allotment with polytunnel, a bog garden and mini pond.  We are so passionate about the children using the outdoors that we paid for a member of our own staff to be trained as a level 3 Forest School leader.  She works across the school to deliver outdoor learning session with elements of forest school.  Children love these opportunities and it ensures that we have a vibrant and engaging curriculum which is relevant to our pupils.

A group of our wonderful children decided they wanted to do something to support hedgehogs when they learned that they are becoming endangered. They hosted a stall at the Christmas fair selling hand made hedgehog related items. They raised a very impressive £75, this has been donated to the Prickly Edge Hedgehog rescue centre in Methley. Well done everyone involved; we are very proud of you.

We are fortunate enough to have a range of outdoor areas which include a wild life area, playgrounds, large field which includes sports areas, allotment, campfire and den building areas and a forest.  We have a member of staff who will lead forest school activities throughout the school from September 2016 and all children access outdoor lessons every week.  Our twitter account is a great place to see this in action. 

Pupils use the outdoors in all weathers and enjoy the opportunities this brings.
